Bowling Cupcakes-Made to Look Like Bowling Balls

This was an easy recipe to do. I just made the cupcakes and the icing-and colored the icing both blue and yellow. Then I took three mini chocolate chips to act as the "bowling holes" for your fingers. They turned out really cute for our bowling party!

Picnics and Playgrounds for Brayden's Actual Birthday Day!

Celebration number one for Brayden's birthday week was so much fun! His birthday was on a Wednesday. Emi came down and we went to the park and had a picnic! Then we went to the playground and the kids had a blast playing. Even I had so much fun swinging on the swings with the kids, looking up through the canopy of trees to see the blue sky as we went higher and higher on the swings. Life is so good! Happy 7th birthday our shining super star!

Chalkboard Wall!

Emi writing happy birthday to Brayden!

We picked a wall in our kitchen that we wanted to use as our chalkboard wall. We bought the chalkboard paint, which was only about 15 dollars. Then we painted the wall after we wiped it down. We did not have to use primer. Then we let it dry/set for 3 days. Then we covered the entire surface in chalk, and then washed it off with a damp cloth. After that it was ready to use! So fun.

Wilderness Walk

My three boys...
We went to a birthday party at the sprinklers, then after it was over, we decided to take a nature walk on one of the smaller trails. It was very peaceful and nice and cool under the shade of all the tall trees! <3

Pool Party!

Today we went to our friends house for a tie dye crafting extravaganza! While we waited for everything to dry, we went over to the pool to cool off and play on the playground!

Sandy Beach Pudding Cups

These were so cute and a huge hit for a pool party we attended today. First I mixed vanilla pudding according to the package directions. Once it was set, I folded in about half a cup of whipped cream. I used store bought, but you could certainly make your own. Then I took Golden Oreo and mixed them in a blender until they were nice and finely chopped-or looked like "sand." Then I got clear plastic cups, and layered the crumbled cookie mixture and pudding. Starting and ending with the Oreo mixture. Then I placed Teddy Grahams on the top, and an M&M in the middle to look like a beach ball. So cute and fun!

This was so fun and easy to make, and you can store it after you are done playing with it! Find the recipe here: http://www.pbs.org/parents/crafts-for-kids/diy-kinetic-sand/

Easy Experiment to See How Rain Goes Through Clouds

Just take a clear glass, and pour water into it. Then take some shaving cream, and pour it over the top. Then take some blue food coloring-add it to the top of the shaving cream. After a few seconds, the blue dye starts to go through the shaving cream or "clouds" to make "rain."

Meatball Sub Pizza

This is the easiest recipe for quick and easy pizza! If you are craving a meatball sub and pizza, this is a recipe that kind of combines the two! It's even easier because I used all store bought ingredients! I toasted sub rolls in the oven for a few minutes with a mixture I pre-made of butter, garlic, and parsley. Then I spread that over the top. Yummy! Then I added store bought frozen meatballs and store bought marinara sauce that had been bubbling to goodness on the stove top. Then I added provolone cheese. You could use mozzarella too. Then I baked it for 5 minutes at 400 until the cheese was bubbly and brown! So delicious and simple!

Moon Rocks, Using Household Ingredients

First mix in a Tupperware bin, silver and black glitter, along with some baking soda. Then pour in some water so it gets a nice gooey consistency, but watch how much water you put in-because you dont want it to get too thin. Although you could always add more baking soda if you needed to. Then mix in some black watercolor paint. We used this kind of pain because it is washable.

Once you get the mixture to where it will hold together using the water, baking soda, black watercolor paint, and black and silver glitter-form them into little round balls. This part is fun for the kids. They like to feel it on their hands to feel the consistency.

Then you take some vinegar-white vinegar is what we used-and you don't need too much either-and pour it over the "moon rocks." The baking soda and the vinegar will react to each other and will make the moon rocks "bubble up" or "erupt." Really cool and fun!

The kids loved to put together this science project!

Frozen Block of Ice Treasure Hunt for Toys!

First you have your kids pick out the toys they want to put in the bins. We just used regular tupperware bins. Then they add water to the bins with the toys in them that they've picked to freeze. Then place them in the freezer and wait for the magic to happen!

Once the bins of water have completely frozen, take them out, and they will be a block of ice! It's actually easier than I thought it would be to get the block out.

You can use any types of tools you want to try to get the toys out of the frozen ice! Just make sure if you use power tools to supervise!

The kids loved "rescuing" their toys!

My kids loved this game so much that we have actually done it several times since our first try. The only thing I would say, is that it does take about 24 hours for the ice to freeze completely inside the bins. So if you are wanting to do this project, make sure you allot the time before hand! This is a great activity to do on a hot day because the ice will melt faster! The kids had a blast with this!

Shrimp Tacos!

Yeah Baby! These were sooo delicious and so easy! I took a pound and a half of white peeled shrimp from the seafood market, then sauteed in a pan with butter, lemon, garlic, salt, pepper and Old Bay seasonings. Then I baked flour tortillas in the oven at 375 over the oven racks for 5 minutes. I did not spray them, but you could spray them with cooking spray as well. I also made sure to microwave them in a damp cloth for 30 seconds to steam them before baking. Then I added sour cream to the baked tortilla, then laid the shrimp in the cool sour cream. Then I topped it with fresh tomato and avocado. If you want a party in your mouth bursting with fresh summer flavors, you definitely need to try this recipe!

Amazing Peaches Over Ice Cream

This was so good I wish I could eat it again right through the screen! I cut up 3 peaches, then I melted 1/4 stick of butter in a skillet. Once the butter was nice and melted, I added the chopped peaches along with 1/4 cup granulated sugar and 1/4 cup brown sugar. Just saute in the skillet for about 10 minutes until the peaches are nice and warm and soft and the butter, sugar and brown sugar has formed a beautiful warm gooey glaze. Ok yum! I'm gonna have to make this again!

Hippo Looses a Tooth!

Another cute game we found to do, that's so easy that you could make from things you probably already have in your house! Just take a piece of pink construction paper, and cut it so that it looks like a mouth. Then fold it in half, and draw mini circles around the edge perimeter. Then place mini marshmallows in the circles, and take a dice-each player rolls the dice and whatever number the get-they take that number of marshmallows off their "hippo mouth." Whoever looses their teeth first wins!

Hot Chocolate over Ice

This is my own twist on a Pinterest find- cute and fun way to enjoy hot chocolate in the summer! I put 2 cups of milk along with 1 cup of heavy cream into a blender, 3 heaping scoops of vanilla ice cream (because who doesn't love that?), 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract, and 2 cups of ice-then blended until rich and creamy! If you want your frozen hot chocolate to be thinner, just use more milk (or heavy cream, because of course we love that)-and if you want it to be thicker, just use less of the liquid! You can add chocolate shavings or whipped cream to the top, but we chose marshmallows as a fun way to enjoy our treat! Yummy yummy in our tummies!

Adorable Leaping Fish Drinks

This is so easy and so cute for the kiddies. All you have to do is mix sprite and blue food coloring, then take Swedish fish and stick them to the top to make it look like they are "leaping" into the "water." Great and refreshing summer drink!

Shark Waffles

Great for shark week, or any summer time breakfast or dessert. Make a fin out of a cut waffle and place on top of another waffle. Mix blue food coloring with whipped cream to make the "ocean." Kids will love this treat!

A Splashin' Good Time!

We had a blast at the water park, as you can see from the picture above, Brayden was sure worn out! He is our little swimming daredevil. There is no slide or tube he is too afraid to go on! He goes on everything! Our little swimmer...

Relaxing Day at Emi's After the 4th

Huddy Buddy has it made in the shade.

Poolside dining.

We enjoyed a nature walk in the afternoon after swimming. The boys had a great time running free. We tried to find wild berries but it must have been after season because we couldn't find any. :(
