This is Halloween! This is Halloween!

Yo, yo, the coolest Storm Trooper and Ninja Turtle around!

Traditional hot dog mummy's

Taking a break to look through some of their loot!

What can I say, this will go down as one of the best Halloweens ever! We had so much fun at Emi and Grandpa's this year since Halloween fell on a Saturday this year. We met up with great friends for some pre-game drinks. Then we went on a hayride through the neighborhood sipping on spiked hot chocolate while the kids went door to door. Then when we came home Grandpa had made a ROARING fire for us in the firepit. A perfect end to a perfect day!

Jack-O-Lantern Cupcakes!

These were so fun for our Halloween party tonight. We used pumpkin spice cake mix and made the cupcakes according to package directions. Then we made a simple buttercream icing and dyed the icing orange. Then we used a black icing pen to draw on jack-o-lantern faces. So cute!

It's Fall at Emi's House!

Look at all those beautiful leaves to play in! The scene when we arrived on Friday evening. :)

We were welcomed into the warm house to loaded baked potato soup and red wine. Both equally soothing for the soul!

Frankenstein Sugar Cookies!

These were so fun to make. I just used store bought sugar cookies and cut them into rectangular shapes. Then I whipped up a buttercream frosting and dyed it green. Then I used marshmallows for the eyes and a black frosting pen to make the hair, eyes and mouth! They turned out super cute.

Pumpkin Carving Party

The boys hard at work painting their pumpkins from Aunt C.

The amazing pumpkins! End results!

So cute.

It was a night of fun and festivities with great friends. We had homemade chilli, carved pumpkins, had Halloween music going from Pandora as we worked, and ended the night watching "The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown." We are blessed with great times!

Pumpkin Pancakes

These are a fun way to celebrate a weekend breakfast for the kiddos. I just shaped the regular pancake batter into pumpkins and then once they were cooled a little I placed chocolate chips to mold a face for each individual pumpkin!

Making Halloween Haunted Houses!

They kind of fell apart so we just ended up decorating individual cookie squares. It was still a lot of fun! Notice the homemade butter beer in the background!

Homemade Butterbeer

This was a delightful treat, but so sweet and filling! Still, it's worth a try, at least once!
2 cups milk
1 cup cream soda
1/4 cup butter

Melt butter, then add to 2 cups milk, stirring together. Then place the mixture into a microwave save bowl and cook for 3-5 minutes or until the milk is foamy. Then add 1 cup cream soda and pour into a Harry Potter looking mug! (If you have one of course). Yum!
